Measurement - Vernier Caliper

 Aim: 

    To determine the volume of a cylindrical glass rod.

Theroy: (Answer these questions in a papragraph format, use the answer to make a paragraph). 

                        What is volume and state its S.I. unit?

                        How do we find the volume of a cylindrical rod.

                        What is the formula to find the volume of the rod.

Apparatus: 

• Venier Caliper 
• 50 cm Rule 
• Cylindrical Rod

Diagram: 

                            Draw simple diagrams of what you used to carry out the experiment. 

Procedure: (Method should be in past tense) 

1. Close the vernier caliper with nothing between it and check for zero error.
2. Place the cylindrical rod between the jaws of the vernier caliper, and record the main scale and vernier scale readings.
3. Measure the length of the cylindrical rod using the 50 cm rule.
4. Using the information obtain; Calculate the volume of the cylindrical rod.
